Sp-Block, Dual-Block

Sp-Block is a cancellous, pre-shaped bone block of equine origin containing preserved tissue collagen. Sp-Block provides structural support to larger defects where bone substitutes in granular form may be limited. Depending on the size of the defect, voids of undefined shape between Sp-Block and the host tissue should be filled with either bone chips or appropriate biomaterials such as Gen-Os or mp3. Sp-Block requires approriate fixation (eg micro-screws) and covering with a thick, slow-resorbing barrier membrane such as EVOLUTION or LAMINA. Re-entry is normally not before 8 months.
